Active Listening

With Colin D Smith

“I wonder how many people I have heard in all my life and not listened to them”   John Steinbeck

Introduction

There is an irony in even talking about listening, after all, it is something we all do, right?  Most people would react to this by saying that there is nothing more they need to know. Yet, they would probably struggle to think of someone who listens to them very well.  Whilst it is recognised that being an active listener is crucial for building relationships and communicating effectively, research shows that 94% of us simply hear what others are saying and only 6% actively listen. We spend years learning to read, write and speak, yet little, if any, time is given to listening – our most used communication medium.  In a recent study by Korn Ferry, (a Global coaching company), developing ‘listening and empathy skills’ was either the first or second most sought after skill for coaching with CEOs, Senior Managers and Junior Managers.

Workshops

During any of these interactive workshops you will be invited to experience, maybe for your first time, active listening, being heard and thinking more clearly. These workshops will give you the awareness, understanding and tools you need to be able to be an active listener.

Breath Retreat In Lanzarote (3-7 nights)

With Alan Dolan
What’s it all about and why go on this life-changing retreat?

Have you ever watched a small child at play? Completely absorbed in the moment and totally unselfconscious. Perfect authenticity. No facades. Simply being. It’s a great reminder of our inherent ability to live this way. So when did we lose that ability and how do we get back there?

From a very early age we are taught how NOT to be authentic. Parents give children signals as to what is ‘ok’ and ‘not-ok’, and children adopt strategies in order to regain approval. For children, non-authentic behaviour has a short term gain. Over time however it becomes the norm, leading us further and further away from who we really are.

Our relationships with others are a direct reflection of the one we have with ourselves. You can’t hope for intimacy with another person if you aren’t intimate with yourself. If you’re looking for authenticity you need to be authentic with yourself. If you want respect from others you need to be respectful with yourself. If you’d like to see through the facades of others you must get behind your own facade first.

Breathwork is your ticket back to the remembrance of your authentic self, a journey which can open you further than you ever imagined possible. It’s the best adventure you will ever have, and unlike even the most fabulous holiday it doesn’t stop when you get back home. It’s literally the ultimate trip.

Breathwork allows you to lighten up, and realise that you are already ok as you are. The facade you’ve spent years constructing will simply fall away, allowing you to spend time with your true self, learning your needs and wants. You can disengage from the drama, find your centre, find joy inside yourself – and consciously create a life you are happy to be a part of.

The Healing Power of Breath

Humans have been aware of the healing power of their breath for millennia. Through the centuries we’ve developed a vast array of breathing practices, all designed to bring about physical and emotional wellbeing and connect with our deeper selves.

But in today’s society, we often neglect our bodies’ built-in capabilities. Imagine owning the highest specification TV in existence, keeping it plugged in on standby and then living with it for years and years without ever actually turning it on. The fact is, most of us live in ‘standby mode’ most of the time. The most powerful mechanism is literally right beneath our noses waiting to be explored, yet we rarely give it more than a passing thought.

Conscious breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. And it facilitates openings to higher levels of consciousness, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live better, easy, more joyful lives.

With breathwork we can enjoy optimum health, mental and emotional clarity, and experience an ever-deepening relationship with ourselves. It’s the means by which we can embark upon the ultimate journey: the one where we discover who we really are. And it can facilitate the growth needed in order for us to transform into who we’re capable of becoming.

What you’ll gain (and we’ve experienced it ourselves, so know all of these to be true)
  • Be the healthiest you’ve ever been
  • Feel completely energised
  • Experience deeply nourishing peace and relaxation
  • Move beyond whatever is standing between you and your happiness
  • Become aware of emotions halting your personal growth
  • Let go of emotional baggage permanently and easily
  • Release anxiety and alleviate depression
  • Develop a new dimension to your yoga and/or spiritual practice
  • Understand the nature of spirit
  • Open your breath and expand your life
The Technique

All of Alan Dolan’s work is based around one simple breathing technique, which you can vary depending on how you want to feel or what you’d like to achieve. You’ll be taught how to use conscious breathing effectively and be guided and supervised as you go along – paving the way for really transformative experiences.

Lanzarote and the villa where you’ll be staying

Situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa, Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands and has been Alan’s home for the past 11 years. In 2011, after more than a year of searching, Alan found the ‘Dream Place’ for these retreats – a sanctuary of peace and seclusion in a rural location with sea and volcano views, ten minutes from the beautiful beach at Famara.

The villa is in an elevated position, with terraced patio areas and private, shady spots to lounge. The 5-star accommodation is mostly arranged around the sheltered private pool, with two of the rooms opening directly out to it. Nearby, you can soak in the hot tub after your twice-daily breath sessions and drink in the awe-inspiring vistas as the sunsets.

Your 1-1 breath sessions with Alan always take place in the complete privacy of the therapy room. And as there are only ever a maximum of four guests staying at any one time, you can be as private or as involved as you wish to be – most people choosing to do both at different times during their stay. Those attending often say the other people present during their stay really add to their experience.

The Rooms

THE LOFT

The Loft

A light and airy double room with floor to ceiling windows, sea/volcano views and direct access to the pool terrace. The space has been furnished using a mixture of Indonesian, Spanish and Turkish pieces, resulting in a relaxed, stylish environment. The teak four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom/dressing area complements the living space beautifully.

THE SUITE

The Suite

The spacious Suite is made up of a double bedroom, bathroom and lounge. Both the bedroom and the lounge have patio doors opening directly onto the pool area. The lounge can also be used as a second bedroom, making The Suite ideal for friends or family who wish to visit the retreat together.

SKYVIEW

Skyview Room

A double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, with an atrium skylight perfect for watching the stars. The high-spec bathroom also features a shower/steam room.

The Food

Delicious and healthy, Alan’s vegetarian cuisine is prepared by his resident chef from local, seasonal produce.

Other information

Hiring a car is recommended as the villa is in a rural location, and if you really want to explore the island it’s a must. Car hire is very reasonably priced and can be arranged on your behalf, but you will still be met at the airport irrespective of whether or not you hire a car. It’s remarkably easy to drive around the island; there is very little traffic and it’s a great way to experience the incredible landscapes.

If you don’t want to drive, don’t worry – Alan is happy to drop you at the beach, and half or full island day tours are also available. You can walk on pristine sandy beaches, surf at Famara or swim in the crystal clear ocean, go on nature walks or volcano climbs, or soak up the local culture at fiestas; Lanzarote really is the most magical of islands. It enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. With total annual rainfall at just 140mm, so your time on this retreat is likely to be bathed in warm, dry weather whatever time of year you visit.

What’s included
  • One 60-minute 1-1 breath session each day (ex. arrival + departure days)
  • One 60-minute group breath session each day (ex. arrival + departure days)
  • Full board vegetarian meals and drinks prepared by our chef
  • Airport transfers

My Breathing Space retreat was just that… space for myself to focus on me, just me. Alan’s experience, natural compassion and intuition enabled me to learn about myself and to ‘clear’ emotionally and physically. At the end of the week I felt stronger, clearer, spiritually and literally ‘lighter’… a life changing week. I am resolved to make it an annual retreat. Worth every penny and more.”

Emma, Cambridge

Alan Dolan is one of the best alternative practitioners/ breathworkers I’ve had the privilege to work with. His level of care for and intuitive understanding about the needs of his clients is second to none and I highly recommend him to any and everyone embarking on a journey of self discovery and/or looking for a way to live a happier, healthier and more peaceful life”

Naomie Harris, Oscar, Bafta & Golden Globe nominee

I have practiced yoga for 8 years and meditation for 5 years and have always struggled with breathing and connecting the breath. I felt constricted across the chest and stuck. I knew I wasn’t breathing to my full capacity and that was the motivating factor for my initial interest in transformational breath. My actual experience extended way beyond any expectations I ever believed for what could be achieved through breathing! The breath work took me on a huge healing journey in 5 days and for the first time in my life I could feel my heart softening and opening. The work Alan does is incredible, truly life changing and transformative – Thank you for an amazing experience, Alan.”

Building Better Relationships

With Samantha Clarke

This can be delivered as a talk or we can create fully bespoke workshops and training programs for your organisation, if you are looking to resolve a specific challenge.

As individuals we may be highly brilliant, talented, witty and caring but few of us live or work in a vacuum; no one is an island. So it pays to learn how to cultivate and nurture relationships with others. Doing so can help us lead enriched and deeper lives, as well as be successful in the workplace.

Humans are social beings. We long to be understood, accepted and feel that we belong. However we are not born with natural relationship building abilities but like all skills it can be learned and mastered if we are willing to recognise the need and that this takes time and effort.

This session will showcase the tools to help build better relationships with everyone by:

  • revealing the key elements of healthy relationships
  • enhancing effective emotional communication and connection skills
  • providing insights on how to respond better to others
  • identifying how to regulate conflict with others

Prices and more details available once we know your requirements. Please contact us to discuss.

Connected Breath Session For Organisations

With Justine Clement

My breathwork session with Justine was just incredible! A truly amazing experience that has made a profound difference to how I feel – like a huge weight has been lifted from me. I instantly connected with Justine. Her expertise and genuine passion to help others was very evident. I felt safe, relaxed and really comfortable to just ‘let go’ and be myself. I highly recommend anyone to just give Connected Breathwork a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I will definitely be booking more sessions as I can feel a real shift after just one. Gail Blackman.

What is Connected Breathwork?

Humans have been aware of the healing power of their breath for millennia. Through the centuries we’ve developed a vast array of breathing practices, all designed to bring about physical and emotional wellbeing and connect with our deeper selves. But in today’s society, we often neglect our bodies’ built-in capabilities. Imagine owning the most high specification TV in existence, keeping it plugged in on standby and then living with it for years and years without ever actually turning it on. The fact is, most of us live in ‘standby mode’ most of the time. Breath: the most powerful mechanism is literally right beneath our noses waiting to be explored, yet we rarely give it more than a passing thought.

Connected Breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. It facilitates openings to higher levels of living and being, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives joyfully and in abundance.

Breathwork helps you towards optimum mental health, emotional clarity and experience an ever-deepening relationship with yourself. It’s the means by which we can embark upon the ultimate journey: the one where we discover who we really are. It can also facilitate the growth needed in order for us to transform into who we’re capable of becoming.

What to expect

We run workshops in-person in a studio, your office if there’s an appropriate space, or otherwise the session can be done equally as well virtually via Zoom or whatever system works for your organisation. No previous experience is necessary. Breathwork is a benign and yet powerful modality with few contraindications. All you need for the session is yourself, dressed in comfy, loose clothing.

Justine will give a short introduction to the workings and benefits of Breathwork, followed by a demonstration of the technique. There’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions, then it’s into the breathing session. You’ll lie on your back (or for beginners we recommend you being in a slightly elevated position) and the whole group will breathe together online, guided by Justine, in the comfort of your own surroundings. During the session you will have your own very individual experience and no one will observe you other than your facilitator, Justine. Sensations of physical and/or emotional release are not uncommon. Most people experience an increasing sense of peace and wellbeing. Whatever your experience you can be sure that it’s just the beginning of an incredible journey. Welcome to the world of Connected Breathing!

The Science

Medical research into Connected Breathing and other such breathing therapies is still in its infancy although there are a number of ongoing studies exploring the relationship between Breathwork and heart disease, hypertension and mental/emotional states. The type of Connected Breathing that we teach involves a form of deep, circular, connected, diaphragmatic breathing (which is very different to yogic breathing/Pranayama). There are many variations of Breathwork (such as Transformational Breath, Holotropic Breath, Rebirthing which are all based on the “connected” breath) each with their own particular technique however all of the current research reports on the common benefits of continued slow, deep, diaphragmatic breathing. Click the links below for some of the available research:

Benefits

  • Release anxiety, stress and alleviate depression
  • Tackle sleep issues
  • Ease respiratory conditions
  • Boost your immune system
  • Feel completely energised
  • Experience deeply nourishing peace and relaxation
  • Be the healthiest you’ve ever been
  • Become aware of emotions halting your personal growth
  • Let go of emotional baggage permanently and easily
  • Move beyond whatever is standing between you and your happiness

After the session

After a Breathwork session you may feel very light, more open, and even euphoric for a few days. However, it’s also possible you find yourself a little more emotional than normal, which is perfectly normal and ok.

You’ll want to drink lots of water after a session, that’s because you’ve brought a lot of toxins to the surface through your breathing, and water will help flush them out. In the days and weeks that follow, you may find you experience:

  • More self-confidence
  • Access to more creativity and clarity
  • A deeper sense of well-being
  • A stronger connection with yourself and others and people often find that those around them will also feel the effects, such as improved relationships

Deep Core Awareness Retreats (1-14 nights)

With Danny Shmulevitch

In an age of busyness, stress and chronic overstimulation, success comes at a price. Many of the world’s most accomplished leaders and entrepreneurs find it hard to switch off or make time to connect with themselves. And yet nurturing that connection is essential for real productivity, creativity and happiness. The demands of our fast paced world draw our attention outward and away from the source of our abilities — our inner core, which is the well-spring of intuition, inspiration and the ability to think outside of the box. Our ability to successfully manage the challenges ahead depend on a renewed connection to the best within us and the cultivation of new set of ‘eyes’ that enable to see the timeless wisdom that can inform best-choice decision making.

The cultivation of a new set of ‘eyes’ begins by taking time out to retreat from a frenetic world to explore and rediscover the value and vitality of your deep self. Taking quiet time to reconnect with your authentic self clears the mind and allows a deep perception that gives new perspectives and understandings. Looking at the bigger picture through the lens of your inner picture provides insights and inspired strategies that may be otherwise inaccessible. Gaining access to that inner picture is most easily achieved in a beautiful natural setting that invokes awe and wonder.

The Deep Core Awareness retreats offered by Meaningful Travel 101 and Danny Shmulevitch provide bespoke programmes for leaders and their organisations to deeply reconnect with the best in themselves and each other in the stunning beauty of wilderness landscapes.

Danny is a masterful mentor in the fine art of rediscovering and listening to our powerful inner selves — the essential process of linking to and realising our latent potential. He has extensive experience facilitating leader’s inner work through the connection with natural settings around the world, from the Sinai Desert to the Kalahari Desert and beyond to the Arctic Circle. He is an intuitive, humorous and adaptable facilitator who is responsive to the specific needs of each individual. He is skilled in enabling participants to draw nourishment from places of exceptional beauty and match it to their own inner majesty, helping them to leave after a short period of time with a renewed sense of what matters most and how to achieve that in their personal and professional lives.

Our Deep Core Awareness retreats offer people the chance to totally reset their inner being, resulting in a balanced alignment of their head and their heart. This leads to deep perception and new levels of efficiency. Deep Core retreats offer a chance for complete renewal and re-energising of participants. The shift to deep inner coherence gives participants the clarity to make better decisions and improve their communications, in both their business and personal life. Participants report that the effort to listen to their inner core, in the quiet of natural surroundings, lets them listen more carefully and empathetically to others. They say that this helps them build better relationships and more dynamic teams.

Our Deep Core Awareness retreats are currently being offered at Finca de Ariant in the magnificent pristine wild landscape of the Tramuntana mountains of north-west Mallorca. If you’re interested in holding retreats in other locations, get in touch as we’ll create totally bespoke experiences too.

Enneagram Personality Test (TALK/MASTERCLASS)

With Akcelina Cvijetic
Introduction to Enneagram

Enneagram is an ancient wisdom teaching that is 2,500 years old and comes from Greek “Ennea-gram” which means “model of nine”. It is based on nine distinct personality types that go well beyond our ‘type’ to highlight the main drivers behind our individual expression and behaviour. It is an insightful way of understanding why we think, feel and act the way we do.

Have you ever wondered why people can’t see things from your perspective or do what you would do? Do you keep repeating the same behaviours or communication patterns and feel misunderstood? Does it seem like you are running on autopilot? Enneagram will teach you about the “programming” that is running you, and that is running others, so that you can be aware of its positive and negative aspects. Most importantly, this workshop will provide you with a far greater awareness of yourself and others in day-to-day life and will give you tools to do something positive with the knowledge you have gained.

Why do you need it?

Successful businesses thrive on their employees knowing how to work most effectively both by themselves as well as part of a team. Enneagram provides empowering insights on how to overcome each person’s barriers to transform challenges into greater achievements and fulfilment. By offering an in-depth awareness and understanding of the “nine ways of thinking and behaving” this workshop enables people within organisations to elevate themselves to far greater levels of success and advantage in a competitive world. The famous “Real Beauty” campaign by Dove was created as a result of the awareness of the Enneagram. Other companies that benefited from using its tools are Google, IBM, Virgin, BBC, Downton Abbey TV series and Hay House Publishing.

 Benefits:
  • Develop a greater understanding of yourself and others
  • Enjoy better personal and business relationships
  • Resolve conflicts and work most effectively with each of the nine types
  • Become the kind of leader you are meant to be
  • Identify and defuse any underlying barriers
  • Understand your unique motivation
  • Transform your challenges into growth and contribution
  • Achieve greater authentic success, joy and inspiration
How The Enneagram Personality Test Changed My Life – a user story

After we’d taken the test, we were explained about all 9 personality types. I was surprised by how each one was so distinctly different. As I read, I thought about the people in my life- family, friends, colleagues- who are likely a 4, a 6, or a 3 and how that impacts their perspective on the world.

As a result I gained empathy, patience, understanding and self-awareness. I had so many a-ha moments and so much understanding of events and conversations that had occurred in the past which had affected me.

Now these numbers and their descriptions have become a reference point for me both in and out of work. It’s become a map that helps me navigate the world and consider another person’s frame of reference. It helps me approach relationships and interactions with far more thought and consideration. It’s really been quite transformational.

Enneagrams help to frame how one single event can be construed very differently depending on who perceives it. Understanding the Enneagram can help you put yourself in someone else’s shoes and view the world from their perspective.

The 9 Enneagram Personality Types

There are lots of images which describe the 9 enneagram personality types, so here are a few by way of an initial explanation. The image below reveals each personality type, describing where their attention and energy is naturally drawn to.

This next image provides a more visual representation of each enneagram personality type.

What people say about Enneagram

“It changed my life.

“I’ve never thought much of personality tests. But the accuracy and detail of this one blew my mind.

“I was so shocked by it’s accuracy that I couldn’t just stop after reading about my type. I wanted to know about how my type interacted with every other type.

Inspiration For Marketing

With Laurence Shorter
Inspiration – A Masterclass For Marketing Professionals

You work in brand and marketing because it’s about energy, creativity and communication – things that matter personally, that wake you up and make you feel engaged. You love it when you get a chance to bring new life to a brand or create a powerful idea to catalyse change. But all too often the inspiration goes missing in action, sidelined or forgotten in a rush to create something that is acceptable to the client, internally or externally. In this event Laurence – based on 20 years experience as a strategist, entrepreneur and author – will reconnect you with what really matters about marketing: the generation of inspiring energy that attracts and mobilises your community of customers and colleagues.

This workshop can be tailored either for individuals wishing to explore their career future or for teams working on a specific problem or looking to make inspiration a central principle of their work. It can be held in your offices or we can talk you on a Walkshop out into the Sussex countryside (thoroughly recommended) or in inspiring locations around London.

We will look at:
  • Managing a high-performing creative team
  • Getting to flow in discussions and decision-making
  • How to generate insights to unblock a problem
  • Where good ideas come from and how to generate them
  • Influence and power in marketing
  • How to be an ‘unthinker’

Joy At Work (6 WK PROGRAMME)

With Lynn Hord
Our Joy@Work is a 6-week, online, group experience designed to boost productivity, performance and profits, by helping people tap into and increase their joy at work

Happy employees aren’t a nice thing to have, they’re the 21st-century competitive edge.

Why? Because happy employees, among other things like being great to be around and being awesome team players, are also:

  • 31% more productive
  • take 10X fewer sick days
  • make 37% more sales
  • and add 20% to your bottom line compared to your (unhappy) competitors

So, while many companies are still focusing on productivity measures, performance incentives, and other short-term solutions, those who truly get the power is in their people are investing where it counts – engagement.

Engaged employees feel more connected to their colleagues, are more invested in the company’s success and its goals, and are more willing to go the extra mile to make them happen.

They are more responsive to challenges, better problem-solvers, more resilient, and more able to manage stress (and avoid the all-too-prevalent burnout). Not to mention they’re more fun to be around and awesome team players.

With an average of 40+ hours a week at our ‘jobs’ and 40+ years in our working life, 21st-century workers are now wanting far more from their 9-to-5 than a paycheck. And if you employ Millennials – even more so.

If your company would benefit from:

  • More productive and efficient staff
  • Teams that are even more collaborative
  • Increased innovation and creativity
  • More positive and engaged employees
  • Better staff retention
  • New recruits choosing you over the competition
  • And an overall happier workplace

Then you’d hugely benefit from putting employees (or specific teams) through our innovative Joy@Work Programme. It’s a 6-week, online, group experience designed to boost productivity, performance and profits, by helping people tap into and increase their joy at work.

Positive emotion is a natural motivator, so when we incorporate activities that bring bursts of uplifting emotion or focus on long-term activities that bring satisfaction and fulfilment, we can’t help but become more effective and efficient – and produce better results.

IN THE THE JOY@WORK PROGRAMME YOU WILL DISCOVER:
  • The science behind happiness and why it fuels success
  • How to tap into motivation by finding meaning in your daily work (no matter what job you do)
  • The 5 foundations of wellbeing at work that are essential to sustainable performance
  • How to set yourself up for success by cultivating a positive (and joy-focused) mindset
  • Tools and techniques to boost resilience and reduce workplace stress
  • How to see change as an opportunity and approach it with more creativity – and less resistance

Worldwide, a whopping 87% of workers are disengaged (according to Gallup), which leads to people being unproductive, uninspired to do their best and just collecting a payslip. But what if, instead, they were able to tap into something that made an immediate difference to their positivity, their productivity and ultimately their performance? It just takes a simple, sustainable shift, and that’s something that Joy@Work creates.

ARE YOU UP FOR THE ADVENTURE?

Great. Here’s what you need to know.

Individuals are welcomed (set dates which we can give you) and teams are celebrated – engaging your whole team in this process creates an even more powerful culture change.
All of the learning modules are prerecorded videos and can be viewed at your convenience, so they are easy to fit in to your busy week.
The weekly group calls are all recorded, so if you can’t make it live, you can catch up when your schedule allows (we want the process, not just the learning to feel easy and fun!).
There will be an online forum where you can connect with the group, where you can go for inspiration, to ask questions, and share challenges or wins you’ve had between the live calls.
To make sure you get the support and attention you need to implement everything you will be learning, group size will be a maximum of 20 people.

NEXT STEPS

Joining as an individual to set dates on the online programme is £550 per person.

To enroll, simply email us for more info.

Or to run Joy@Work as a bespoke programme for your team, options are also available. Again just get in touch and we’ll set up a time to chat.

To find out more information about how Joy At Work could help you or your organisation, contact us and we’ll respond to you right away.

Leadership Awareness

With Samantha Clarke

This can be delivered as a talk or we can create fully bespoke workshops and training programs for your organisation, if you are looking to resolve a specific challenge.

It’s a fact that leaders who know themselves well and consistently hone their leadership abilities are more effective and memorable.

Have you taken the time to identify how you are perceived? What are your values, motivations and boundaries? Are they obvious to others? Leaders must take responsibility for how they are perceived and their presence. This can be delivered as a talk or more in-depth workshop and provides you with ideas, techniques and tools to assist you in your leadership development journey.

You will learn how to harness the power of your life story and past experiences, understand your signature motivations and values, enhance your self-awareness and discover how to improve your leadership presence and effectiveness.

You can expect to:

  • Develop an understanding of your signature leadership values, principles and boundaries
  • Create an acute awareness of how leaders lose their way and presence during challenging times and how to overcome this
  • Gain insights on how to build the right support teams and resources to enhance your leadership
  • Create their your own Personal Leadership Plans to ensure you are consciously self-aware throughout your life and work

Leadership: What it really takes

With Dr Shomit Mitter

‘Leadership: What It Really Takes’ is a 5-session workshop that will give you the essence of what you need to do to in order to become a truly inspirational leader.

It will teach you:

  •  How to deal with the type of stress that can be crippling – but which you feel you can’t confess to anyone within your organisation
  •  What it means to be “visionary” and what it takes to see your vision through into practice.
  •  How to inspire your team and lead them into uncharted waters, whilst also dealing with the doubters and the trouble-makers.
  •  How to build a head of steam so that you have the momentum to ensure that your project delivers on its promises

In each session, Shomit introduces you to a principle and then guides you through a practical exercise which will hardwire each of the concepts into your thinking, so that they become effortless. After all, you want to become a leader, not just someone with interesting ideas on leadership.

“ Shomit is about delivering real, actionable solutions to both personal and business-related problems rather than seeking to endlessly dissect and analyse issues. Without doubt the most talented coach I have ever had the pleasure to meet. ” — Adam Akbar, Entrepreneur

“ Shomit started working with me at a time when I was disillusioned with my working life and had very little disposable income. It was always a dream of mine to start my own business but it seemed like an impossible feat. Shomit tackled the root of the problem and helped me believe in myself. Today I am in a position that I could not have imagined 5 years ago, selling to customers all around the world and have experienced excellent growth in the business. Shomit, I cannot thank you enough for all of your help. ” — Dave Rai, Business owner

Presenter Colin D Smith

Colin D Smith is known as ‘The Listener'. He is one of the UK’s foremost listening skills specialists, working both with individuals, as well as for teams within organisations who want to be heard, think smarter, and transform their business and personal relationships through active listening. He has an innate ability to actively listen to people, enabling them to articulate their creative ideas, address their personal concerns, express their feelings more easily, and to achieve their personal, professional and life goals. Having had a varied and successful career in consultancy, business development, IT and customer support across many sectors, including finance, motor, retail and the NHS, in looking back he realised that much of his success was due to his listening and connecting abilities. This led him to develop a series of programmes to develop these skills in others, the importance of which organisations are now waking up to. His inquisitive and curious mind leads him to explore unusual, thought provoking, yet grounded observations and alternative approaches to business, people, systems, change and innovation.

Presenter Danny Shmulevitch

Danny’s search for stillness began as a young child growing up in the Sinai desert. He lived with the semi-nomadic Sawad tribe near his family home in Galilee; his formative years spent sleeping fireside under the stars - free from the physical and human confines most of us accept as our reality. For over two decades, Danny worked with the Bedouin tribes to lead retreats and longer journeys in the Sinai desert. They were attended by ecological and spiritual leaders and other people who came to witness how we expand when we connect deeply with ourselves in nature. He set up the The Makhad Trust in 2002 to support the preservation of the natural heritage of the Bedouin and other nomadic communities of the world. He also led the restoration of oasis gardens throughout the Sinai region and built community wells, as well as a school. In the remote Amdo region of Tibet, he worked with indigenous communities to restore the murals in the Lukhang garden, built by Dalai Lama VI in the 17th century, and the Mani Walls near the Terton Chogar Monastery.
