Imagine the magic of being whisked away from your busy everyday life to remote peace and solitude amid the magnificence of the Canadian Cariboo Mountains wilderness. This is a really special adventure, accessible only to a very lucky few, in spectacular remote high mountain valleys with beautiful lakes, grizzly bears and wildlife and spectacular mountain scenery.
Let it touch your soul – invigorate and recharge your inner being. This pure life experience in a place where your only neighbours are mountain goats, mountain caribou, grizzlies and blackbears, moose and wolves. It’s just you and the wilderness. It’s a rustic yet satisfyingly complete spirit quest and way of interacting with nature on its own terms where time is seemingly endless.
This signature wilderness adventure destination in the Cariboo Mountains in central British Columbia offers you the rare opportunity to connect with nature and “see through the eyes of the forest”. We work with one of Canada’s top bear and wildlife specialists in bear, recognised as the pioneer in the bear viewing industry traversing the same paths as the bears and wildlife from the salmon bearing rivers of a rare interior rainforest to the alpine beauty of the Cariboo Mountains.
Deep in British Columbia’s remote Cariboo Mountains lies a brand new floating ‘glampsite’, the only one of its kind in Canada. Moored on Quesnel Lake (the deepest known fjord lake in the world) it’s run by our guide who is known as the Bear Whisperer due to his special relationship with the area’s numerous grizzlies. The camp is small but comfortable and holds two smart safari-style tents containing double beds and loo fixed to a floating platform around 20 metres from the shoreline. And it’s the only place operating on this basis almost exclusively in an area the size of Switzerland. So what we really love about this is that it puts you deep into a place that few humans ever get to go.
Each morning you’ll head out on a boat through the Mitchell River system, a mist-bloated place where garlands of lichen hang wet and heavy from centuries-old red cedars and colossal bull moose crash through the forest. The interior forest also has its very own climate. At certain times of the year, too, nearby ice fjords are ablaze with sockeye salmon ploughing steadily upstream on their migration route to spawn. And as you drift along, huge bald eagles float down on to willowy tree branches and the screeches of stellar jays fills the air.
And the bears, oh the bears. They come thick and fast as you meander upstream. From huge males crossing the river in front of you, to sows with cubs, fully submerged, feasting on the hoards of salmon. Gary, your guide, spends his life with these bears and knows them by name and can second-guess their behaviours.
Floating Glamping Lodge
The floating glamping lodge, is in a quiet bay on the deepest fjord lake on earth near the mouth of one of the major salmon spawning rivers. From here you’ll experience a wide diversity of incredible adventures that include exceptional bear and wildlife viewing, birding, walking safaris through the rare interior rainforest with trees over 1000 years old, kayaking, forest bathing, hiking in rich boreal forests and alpine, exploring unique ecosystems with rare plants and spectacular wild flowers.
The lodge equipped with luxury wall tents gives you 360 degree mountain views where you can see bears and other wildlife from dawn to dark. And don’t forget a view like this ensures the brilliance of the nighttime skies where the stars that brighten the heavens are only dimmed when the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis dance across the skies. It’s the ideal place to disconnect from real life, reinvigorate and re-energise. You’ll feel the freedom and exhilaration of breathing fresh pure mountain air and the everyday stresses of life slowly ebb away in the peaceful quiet of this mountain paradise.
From the lodge you’ll have:
Durations and itineraries are totally flexible. We can add city stays to either side if you wish, or you can simply fly in to the wild and remain there for the duration of your stay. Contact us to discuss details and we’ll provide you with a cost to include or exclude flights.
Many of us make choices that are influenced by the conditions surrounding us – our family, friends, peers, organisations and society. Many of these choices serve to undermine our resilience.
This workshop is available as part of a corporate subscription package. Contact us for details.
Change is coming at us from all angles – complex social and ecological challenges are hammering on our doors, our organisations keep re-organising and our families somehow continue to trigger those pain points. How do we not just stay afloat but actually utilise these chaotic and unstable times to our greatest advantage – individually, organisationally and societally?
This talk will help you see that what you are experiencing is actually pretty normal, enable you to get a handle on it all, give you some perspectives and point to some tools to ride these times effectively. It will leave you with both inspiration as well as specific actions to move forward with.

I’ve got to keep breathing. It’ll be my worst business mistake if I don’t” Steve Martin, Actor
Getting any team out of their heads and into their bodies to help enable powerful shifts in their physical and mental wellbeing. It’s suitable for any team, at any level, within an organisation or agency. The session can be adapted according to level, outlook and challenges. That said, this session can also be run as a 1-1 for one specific person looking for clarity, a mind shift and a greater understanding of how to reconnect with themselves through breathwork.
Conscious Connected Breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. It facilitates openings to higher levels of consciousness, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives more joyfully with better functioning immune systems and a greater resilience to stress.
The combination of learning to connect more deeply to ourselves is undeniably powerful. Breathwork is a tested and proven technique used by elite performers such as Navy seals, as well as organisations such as Google and BCG to enhance the emotional wellbeing and mental performance of their people.
Breath practices can change your physiology to:
This session is usually done in a group setting, on the floor on mats (we can provide if you don’t have these). We suggest up to 30 people in a session. You’ll be given a scientific understanding of how your breathing effects you, and how incorporating it into a daily routine will bring immeasurable benefits and rewards. If you’d like to receive some of the many studies now done on the power of breathwork, please get in touch and we can send these to you.
1hr 15 mins
£95pp/£2850 for 30 people
We suggest people wear comfortable non-restrictive clothing so that they’re relaxed throughout the session. Please note, as an organisation breathwork is hugely safe for almost anybody. However, you will need to ask participants prior to joining this session if they have any Breathwork contraindications . If you have any questions in relation to this please get in touch to discuss.
My breathwork session with Justine was just incredible! A truly amazing experience that has made a profound difference to how I feel – like a huge weight has been lifted from me. I instantly connected with Justine. Her expertise and genuine passion to help others was very evident. I felt safe, relaxed and really comfortable to just ‘let go’ and be myself. I highly recommend anyone to just give Connected Breathwork a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I will definitely be booking more sessions as I can feel a real shift after just one. Gail Blackman.
What is Connected Breathwork?
Humans have been aware of the healing power of their breath for millennia. Through the centuries we’ve developed a vast array of breathing practices, all designed to bring about physical and emotional wellbeing and connect with our deeper selves. But in today’s society, we often neglect our bodies’ built-in capabilities. Imagine owning the most high specification TV in existence, keeping it plugged in on standby and then living with it for years and years without ever actually turning it on. The fact is, most of us live in ‘standby mode’ most of the time. Breath: the most powerful mechanism is literally right beneath our noses waiting to be explored, yet we rarely give it more than a passing thought.
Connected Breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. It facilitates openings to higher levels of living and being, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives joyfully and in abundance.
Breathwork helps you towards optimum mental health, emotional clarity and experience an ever-deepening relationship with yourself. It’s the means by which we can embark upon the ultimate journey: the one where we discover who we really are. It can also facilitate the growth needed in order for us to transform into who we’re capable of becoming.
What to expect
We run workshops in-person in a studio, your office if there’s an appropriate space, or otherwise the session can be done equally as well virtually via Zoom or whatever system works for your organisation. No previous experience is necessary. Breathwork is a benign and yet powerful modality with few contraindications. All you need for the session is yourself, dressed in comfy, loose clothing.
Justine will give a short introduction to the workings and benefits of Breathwork, followed by a demonstration of the technique. There’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions, then it’s into the breathing session. You’ll lie on your back (or for beginners we recommend you being in a slightly elevated position) and the whole group will breathe together online, guided by Justine, in the comfort of your own surroundings. During the session you will have your own very individual experience and no one will observe you other than your facilitator, Justine. Sensations of physical and/or emotional release are not uncommon. Most people experience an increasing sense of peace and wellbeing. Whatever your experience you can be sure that it’s just the beginning of an incredible journey. Welcome to the world of Connected Breathing!
The Science
Medical research into Connected Breathing and other such breathing therapies is still in its infancy although there are a number of ongoing studies exploring the relationship between Breathwork and heart disease, hypertension and mental/emotional states. The type of Connected Breathing that we teach involves a form of deep, circular, connected, diaphragmatic breathing (which is very different to yogic breathing/Pranayama). There are many variations of Breathwork (such as Transformational Breath, Holotropic Breath, Rebirthing which are all based on the “connected” breath) each with their own particular technique however all of the current research reports on the common benefits of continued slow, deep, diaphragmatic breathing. Benefits
After the session
After a Breathwork session you may feel very light, more open, and even euphoric for a few days. However, it’s also possible you find yourself a little more emotional than normal, which is perfectly normal and ok.
You’ll want to drink lots of water after a session, that’s because you’ve brought a lot of toxins to the surface through your breathing, and water will help flush them out. In the days and weeks that follow, you may find you experience:

It can lead you to optimum health, mental and emotional clarity and experience an ever-deepening relationship with yourself. This session is a gentle, simple technique that will help open up the full potential of your breathing system for better physical and emotional wellbeing. The many benefits, include increased energy, better immune response and increased ability to deal with stress in a healthy way.
2. The healing powers of Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing)
Winter is a wonderful time to get out into the forest and feel the elements. After lunch we’ll head out into the nearby woods where you’ll experience the Japanese-inspired practice of Shinrin-yoku, translated as Forest Bathing. You’ll feel incredible, just hanging out in the forest together, but we’ll do so much more than that. You’ll learn techniques to open up your five senses and experience how being in the forest soothes our nervous system, balances our blood pressure, helps us to sleep better and enhances our NK (Natural Killer) cell activity, which boosts our immune systems. It’s a deeply calming, reconnecting and balancing experience.
3. The sensory wonders of Wild Bathing
Have you ever had the experience of feeling utterly revived by bathing in wild water? It’s a magical experience and now is your chance. This session is based on the principles from the book Blue Mind by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols – written about the remarkable effects of water on our health and wellbeing, along the myriad of evidence that cold water immersions improves our energy levels, calms our nervous system, boosts our endorphins for a feel-good factor that’s hard to beat, and improves circulation. Cold showers are all the rage, but they’re a second-rate substitute to wild bathing where you really feel part of the natural world as you bob about! This is a supported, gentle way to experience how being in wild water helps you deeply connect to your body. You’ll be delighted by the flow of positive feelings and find yourself coming firmly into the present, letting go of life’s frustrations and gaining a greater sense of clarity.
4. Releasing and connecting Campfire session
Fire has been used throughout human history as an aid for transformation. Fire ceremonies allow us to honour our life lessons and let go of old stories, dramas and belief structures by placing them in the fire and emerge feeling renewed and reborn. In a world that propels us into wanting more and more and that faster is better, a fire ceremony is the perfect medicine to step into timelessness. It’s an invitation to connect back to a tradition of hundreds of thousands of years of ancestors, who sat around a fire to share stories, keep warm, to cook food and to dance.
Justine, founder of The Life Adventure and a certified Breathwork coach. She was born curious and adventurous. She’s spent the last 15 years exploring ways to live and feel better through ashtanga yoga, kinesiology, Celtic shamanism and mythology, psychotherapy, plant communication and mindfulness, to name a few. For many years, she was a self-confessed ‘on-the-go’ CEO of an experiential travel company and no words of warning from others about the importance of slowing down, could stop her. She only really listened after a series of injuries forced her to stop. Her slow recovery invited her to start learning how to ‘be’ rather than ‘do’. She’s also a certified Shinrin-yoku guide with the International Society of Nature and Forest Medicine (INFOM)and set up/runs the Selsey Sea Bathing Society to encourage people back into the cold water.
The day runs from 10.30am to 5.30pm

We live in a time of great unravelling. Weavers are needed. That means you.
Creative and marketing professionals have never had a more vital role to play than now, as humanity chooses its pathway for the future. In the last month, the Bank of England and the UK’s largest investment fund, Legal & General, alongside David Attenborough, countless environmental NGOs and the B Corp movement have called for businesses to rapidly adapt pretty much everything they do, or to prepare for failure. Countries, councils and businesses are declaring climate and biodiversity emergencies.
Whether we are able to reduce carbon emissions fast enough, restore biodiversity and transform our food systems depends not on technology, but story. We already have the know-how to fix the biggest challenges of our time, but lack the will, the reason and desire for transformation. Making that shift, the greatest of our times, depends on creative teams being at their very best, physically and mentally resilient, and ready for the graft that will underpin the best work they’ve ever delivered.
Creating campaigns, projects and programmes that help clients engage effectively in a rapid journey towards a resilient future means letting go of the suffering, doubt and anguish that comes with many of the emotional and physical wellbeing struggles that shape people’s lives. Imagining the creative work that connects audiences’ heads, hearts and actions to the brands that they love, and to a future that we can be proud of building means reconnecting to ourselves, to the people around us and to nature.
Bringing new economies, cultures and technologies to life, to replace the current set that are fraying the very fabric of the world as we know it, will require a level of courage, collaboration and persistence that is new to many. We may not be equipped with the right tools, yet we need to be ready for the rapid shifts that must start within the next couple of years, at the most.
Good for Life is a powerful, life-affirming 3-day experience that helps creative industry professionals prepare mind, body & soul for a world on the edge of chaos. It’s a supercharge of inspiration and insight for leaders and owners of progressive creative agencies who know that transformational change is coming soon for them and their clients.
The programme will enrich an individual and teams’ capability to make epic contributions with sharper skills and stories to build a better life for all. In this incredible journey of personal transformation, we help participants focus what they do to what they really care about by using adventure, experiential learning, reflection and discussion to connect to self, each other, land, sea and nature. You’ll walk away with a passport, compass and map to live more fully, actively and consciously both now and in the future, and the ability to bring that gift back into the teams and clients you work with.
The backdrop to Good for Life is the incredible landscape, heritage and welcome of St David’s in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, the UK’s smallest city where land meets sea. We can arrange transport to get you there, or you can arrive under your own steam.
You have choice of accommodation that ranges from nearly wild camping, glamping, self-catering or country house hotel, with incredible local food and ingredients grown within a couple of miles. Wherever the stay, the stunning Pembrokeshire coast is a perfect, memorable classroom for these three days.
We’ve lined up an incredible pick-and-choose of life skill adventures. They’re a kind of super-sized scouting for 21st century grown-ups. Each team we work with can choose pretty much any combination from the options below to form the foundations of their Good for Life experience and connect their learning back into their work and life at the agency.
1. Compass For Life – defining ‘Super North Star’ goals, plans and values
2. Mental Flexibility – using improv skills to make everything a gift
3. Still Focus – learning how to apply mindfulness in day to day life
4. Growth Mind-Set – learning to learn from everyday events
1. Nutrition – our body & mind grows from our stomach. Eat that way
2. Recovery – planning and action to regain fitness & resilience
3. Massage – how to look after ourselves better
4. Movement – finding the exercise that’s right for us, for life
6. Endurance
1. Rhythms – learn of the tides, currents, seasons and cycles
2. Climate & The Sea – understanding the impact of sea level rise
3. Safety – staying secure whatever the weather
4. Coast Craft – canny, light-touch ways to make the most of the coast
5. Healthy Seas – actions to take on plastic and diet to restore ocean health
1. Wild camping – what’s possible where and when
2. Foraged feasts – leaf, seaweed and root for tasty foods
3. Stars & lines – essential map-reading and navigation
4. First Aid – basic emergency skills for safety off the path

Most importantly, the society offers opportunities for people to gather together as a community and provide a way for those who may feel lonely or isolated to bond, as well as improving people’s confidence in the water and re-gaining their love of the sea. Justine is also a Shinrin Yoku CPD certified practitioner.

In an age of busyness, stress and chronic overstimulation, success comes at a price. Many of the world’s most accomplished leaders and entrepreneurs find it hard to switch off or make time to connect with themselves. And yet nurturing that connection is essential for real productivity, creativity and happiness. The demands of our fast paced world draw our attention outward and away from the source of our abilities — our inner core, which is the well-spring of intuition, inspiration and the ability to think outside of the box. Our ability to successfully manage the challenges ahead depend on a renewed connection to the best within us and the cultivation of new set of ‘eyes’ that enable to see the timeless wisdom that can inform best-choice decision making.
The cultivation of a new set of ‘eyes’ begins by taking time out to retreat from a frenetic world to explore and rediscover the value and vitality of your deep self. Taking quiet time to reconnect with your authentic self clears the mind and allows a deep perception that gives new perspectives and understandings. Looking at the bigger picture through the lens of your inner picture provides insights and inspired strategies that may be otherwise inaccessible. Gaining access to that inner picture is most easily achieved in a beautiful natural setting that invokes awe and wonder.
The Deep Core Awareness retreats offered by Meaningful Travel 101 and Danny Shmulevitch provide bespoke programmes for leaders and their organisations to deeply reconnect with the best in themselves and each other in the stunning beauty of wilderness landscapes.
Danny is a masterful mentor in the fine art of rediscovering and listening to our powerful inner selves — the essential process of linking to and realising our latent potential. He has extensive experience facilitating leader’s inner work through the connection with natural settings around the world, from the Sinai Desert to the Kalahari Desert and beyond to the Arctic Circle. He is an intuitive, humorous and adaptable facilitator who is responsive to the specific needs of each individual. He is skilled in enabling participants to draw nourishment from places of exceptional beauty and match it to their own inner majesty, helping them to leave after a short period of time with a renewed sense of what matters most and how to achieve that in their personal and professional lives.
Our Deep Core Awareness retreats offer people the chance to totally reset their inner being, resulting in a balanced alignment of their head and their heart. This leads to deep perception and new levels of efficiency. Deep Core retreats offer a chance for complete renewal and re-energising of participants. The shift to deep inner coherence gives participants the clarity to make better decisions and improve their communications, in both their business and personal life. Participants report that the effort to listen to their inner core, in the quiet of natural surroundings, lets them listen more carefully and empathetically to others. They say that this helps them build better relationships and more dynamic teams.
Our Deep Core Awareness retreats are currently being offered at Finca de Ariant in the magnificent pristine wild landscape of the Tramuntana mountains of north-west Mallorca. If you’re interested in holding retreats in other locations, get in touch as we’ll create totally bespoke experiences too.
We hear about ‘Entrepreneurship’ all the time. In the past 10 years especially, the entrepreneur has achieved hero or mega-star status and increasingly young people are opting out of university (even those running entrepreneurship programmes) in order to work on their own or with friends to focus on ideas for a startup. Within organisations, the need to innovate, or seek new ‘disruptive technologies’ is now part of the mainstream way of doing business, with many collaboration programmes springing up between corporates and startups.
In this 2 hour session we will look at how we can incorporate entrepreneurial thinking into an organisational setting. We will cover:
• What we mean by ‘entrepreneurship’
• The challenge to innovate
• Entrepreneurship not entrepreneurs
• How to recognise entrepreneurship and develop it
• Creating a culture of innovation
Whilst this session is best delivered over 2 hours, it can be extended to a half or full day, if required. Contact us to discuss.

Danny’s search for stillness began as a young child growing up in the Sinai desert. He lived with the semi-nomadic Sawad tribe near his family home in Galilee; his formative years spent sleeping fireside under the stars - free from the physical and human confines most of us accept as our reality. For over two decades, Danny worked with the Bedouin tribes to lead retreats and longer journeys in the Sinai desert. They were attended by ecological and spiritual leaders and other people who came to witness how we expand when we connect deeply with ourselves in nature. He set up the The Makhad Trust in 2002 to support the preservation of the natural heritage of the Bedouin and other nomadic communities of the world. He also led the restoration of oasis gardens throughout the Sinai region and built community wells, as well as a school. In the remote Amdo region of Tibet, he worked with indigenous communities to restore the murals in the Lukhang garden, built by Dalai Lama VI in the 17th century, and the Mani Walls near the Terton Chogar Monastery.
