The reason we’re partnering with safari specialists Orbis Expeditions and the Responsible Safari Company, is because their values are the same as ours. These lie in offering experiential travel which supports eco-tourism and which also strikes a balance between being memorable for those taking part, as well as for the young local women of the schools and villages you’ll get to visit on this incredible trip. If you’re not familar with the country, here are 5 reasons to visit:
- The locals are friendly. Malawi is called the “Warm Heart of Africa,” in the native language. The locals exude friendliness to visitors
- It’s not crowded
- Lake Malawi is simply spectacular
- In recent year the game parks have been rehabilitated, as well as the natural reserves
- There’s an easygoing vibe
When we say once-in-a-lifetime, we do genuinely believe this trip will be something you will remember and hold dear in your heart, forever. Having experienced the joys of Malawi on the Women’s Challenge, we find that many women return there again and again. As well as going behind the scenes to uncover the real gems in Malawi (people, environment and culture), staying on a fair trade tea estate and spending time in local villages, you’ll get to hike up a breath-taking mountain, take a night-time wildlife safari and round the trip off by relaxing on the idyllic Mumbo island.
We’re looking for 14 women who want something different for themselves in 2019. Those who would like to push themselves physically (but not off-the-scale), who would like to experience a totally different culture but in the safe hands of a company that knows the country intimately, who would like to take a trip but don’t want it to be just any old ‘holiday’, who would like to the chance to learn from and interact directly with an inspiring local community, and who like to share their own skills and life-learnings with that community of women.
If that sounds as incredible to you as it does to us and you would like to spend 10 days in the company and conversation of like-minded women who want the same things as you from this experience, then do get in touch and we can explain the trip to you in a little more detail and answer all the questions you have. If you crave the idea of being parachuted out of the incessant demands of your life and well and truly out of your comfort zone, I have two words for you: DO IT!
We’re also going to be creating our own blend of this and Women’s Entrepreneurship to run as a bespoke trip in 2019 on a chosen date for a group of 12 women or more. Please do get in touch if this is also something you’d like to discuss this or our Women’s Entrepreneurship expedition.
