Tune Up. Quest. Share.
1. First, our street guide helps you and your group tune up your senses so you can pick up much more information from the urban environment that you would normally.
2. Then you’re off on a journey by yourself – your street quest – where you ask a question and see what answers present themselves.
3. Finally, you gather together again to share what happened and, more often than not, wonder at how magical an ordinary street can become when you’re really aware of those hidden messages, chance meetings and unexpected discoveries.
Founder David Pearl is an internationally renowned speaker who specialises in igniting creativity and changing working cultures. With expert facilitators based around the UK, we can work at scale. Our toolkit and bespoke training sessions give in-house facilitators the ability to roll out Street Wisdom within an entire workplace – inspiring whole companies to use the streets as a source of new ideas.
In just three hours of walking and wandering, participants have resolved problems that have dogged them for years, found new business ideas, discovered new directions, and learned how to deal differently with living, learning and loving.
Street Wisdom by The Life Adventure can be run as a group experience booked by an individual on behalf of a group of friends, or for a team within an organisation who may be looking for answers to problems, or to innovate. We have applied our WalkShop techniques to your home and garden (if you have one), so you can still find everyday inspiration. Every day.

Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher, said that the only constant in life is change. And yet, sometimes change can seem daunting: we appreciate it is inevitable, even necessary, and that good things might come out of it, but while it happens, our life becomes suddenly difficult to navigate, and more stressful.
It does not need to be like that. We can learn to engage with change in a constructive way, and thrive. Human beings are hard-wired to be agile: we are the only animal species that adapted to live on every continent, and even in space. Taking lessons from adventurer, philosophers, and business people, in this intensely interactive workshop we find how to swim with change rather than against it, and reconnect with the deeper meaning of our work.
You will learn:
– How to stay calm in times of change
– How to stay focused
– How to spot opportunities
– How to face unexpected problems
– How to face fear of change
– How to find allies
– How to think long-term
Runs for anywhere from a 90 minute session to half, or even a full day. This can also be delivered as a live webinar by Zoom or similar platform.
Most of us are guilty of being harder on ourselves than we are on others. What our inner critic tells us about our progress and worth are things we would never say to a friend – and this can have devastating effects on our personal and professional development. We are living in an epidemic of self-criticism; nearly everyone suffers with it, no matter how successful and this is particularly so in the demanding environment of agency life.
To fulfil your potential within the agency and realise your self-worth, you will need to tackle your inner critic – but this can be a daunting task. So how do you shut off that negative voice?
Enter leading life coach Fiona Buckland, who has worked with organisations including the United Nations, Google and many more. She will show you how to break the vicious cycle of self-doubt and setbacks, providing you with skills and techniques that you can integrate into your everyday life.
You will come away feeling confident in your abilities to reduce the power of your inner critic, diminish negative self-talk, and with an increased connection to those inner resources that energise and inspire you into positive action – even in challenging times. You will also learn how to be more present, to notice your habits of negative thinking, and how to take action with courage and compassion so that you can be more positive, effective, resilient and successful in every aspect of your life.
This session is best run over 3 hours, but we can adjust the content to suit your timings. We thoroughly recommend going out of the agency to learn in a new environment and can arrange this, otherwise we’ll come to you.
Please contact us at [email protected] for pricing according to your agency’s requirements, and any more details you may require on this session.
We’re pretending we know what we’re doing…
When actually we have no idea.
We’re trying to achieve something that’s unclear.
So we ignore our feelings in order to do things…even when they don’t feel quite right, which is very inefficient!
It doesn’t have to be this way. Laurence shorter, leadership coach & comedian – author of ‘the optimist’ & ‘the lazy guru’s guide to life’ – will talk you through ways of being that are less stressful and radically more creative and efficient: we’ve called it The Art Of Having No Idea. In this session he’ll share his experience of navigating uncertainty by accepting failure & confusion, giving examples from his own life and his work with teams, leaders and entrepreneurs. You will leave with both insights and practical tools for change. You’ll also learn:
Effort vs effortlessness
An inquiry into how good things really happen
Space & Inspiration
A live experience of creative space
Shoulds & Can’ts
Understanding what gets in the way of creativity
Insights for Action
How we fill space & how to create more of it

A great leader is one who cares. A caring leader creates a culture of openness and inclusivity where difference is valued. They look after the physical and mental well-being of their staff, encouraging self-care and digital disconnection. However, before connecting with others, a leader must first look inwards, be self-aware, care for themselves, listen to themselves and have those difficult conversations with themselves. In essence, caring leadership starts with self-leadership.
In this 28 day programme we’ll look at 3 hugely powerful tools for self-connection. these are:
Understanding and integrating each of these methods into your life has the potential for profound and lasting positive impact. We make learning to breathe, TO connect more deeply with who and what we are (nature) and becoming the author of your own story, simple to learn, amazing to experience and when integrated into your life, offers you the opportunity to radically change how you live and work.
This programme is run as an intimate, small group for 6 people – either as one team or across an agency/ organisation.
The most amazing yet simplest of tools to connect you to yourself is journaling. If you establish a practice of journaling for at least 28 DAYS, it will change your life. Journaling connects you to your authentic self in a way that nothing else does. It allows you to cultivate humility and empathy for yourself first and then allows you the space to do that for others.
In this programme, you’ll learn the art of journaling – not just for wellbeing, but for innovative thinking. There are so many benefits to journaling. Here are some of the standouts:
2. CONSCIOUS CONNECTED BREATH IS A DETOX FOR EVERY LEVEL OF OUR BEING
Humans have been aware of the healing power of their breath for millennia. Through the centuries we’ve developed a vast array of breathing practices, all designed to bring about physical and emotional wellbeing and connect with our deeper selves.
But in today’s society, we often neglect our bodies’ built-in capabilities. Imagine owning the most high specification TV in existence, keeping it plugged in on standby and then living with it for years and years without ever actually turning it on. The fact is, most of us live in ‘standby mode’ most of the time. Breath – the most powerful mechanism is literally right beneath our noses waiting to be explored, yet we rarely give it more than a passing thought.
Conscious Connected Breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. It facilitates openings to higher levels of consciousness, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives joyfully and in abundance.
The quality of our breath provides a perfect mirror to the state of our inner world. When we are nervous or agitated our breath becomes short, erratic and at times non-existent. When our breath flows smoothly and calmly so does our experience of life. The benefits of regular breathwork are huge, here are just a few:
3. NATURE CONNECTION = SELF-CONNECTION
Learning how to gently reconnect back to nature contains a subtle power – one that reminds us what and who we truly are, taking us back to the interconnectedness which surrounds and empowers us.
When we feel connected to people and places, we feel a sense of belonging and wholeness. We feel ourselves truly alive. Yet over thousands of years, human beings have gradually become mere onlookers. Bystanders, not just to the glory and wonder of the natural world, but also to ourselves, our lives and our understanding of our place in the world.
There seems to be a gentle, yet unmistakable awakening happening. An increased desire to get out into nature. And whether we realise it’s a pull to find our way back to what it is we have lost in ourselves or not, doesn’t matter. Most important is the shift.
Our belief is that in order to thrive, we need to reconnect with who and what we are – all of which is, and can be found in nature. Our specific focus here is the forest. We’ll introduce you to sensory and meditative invitations that will help you find your way back to an easier way of living. One where you intrinsically know and understand your place in the world and how your connection with nature will bring you back to wholeness, happiness and a thriving, well- balanced life. The range of scientifically-backed benefits of regular shrin-yoku practice include:

Shinrin-yoku is the Japanese practice of immersing yourself in nature whilst gently engaging all of the senses. In this virtual Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing) workshop, you’ll learn about the immersive experience of connecting with the forest, the healing and calming properties of trees and plants, and how to enhance our sensory connection to nature (wherever you live).
Being close to trees has powerful benefits in reducing stress, increasing happiness and a sense of awe, and a feeling of being grounded and ‘held’. When we feel connected to people and places, we feel a sense of belonging and wholeness. We feel ourselves truly alive and connected, in some indescribable way. Yet over thousands of years, human beings have gradually become mere onlookers – bystanders, not just to the glory and wonder of the natural world, but also to ourselves, our lives and our understanding of our place in the world. Yet there seems to be a gentle, yet unmistakable awakening happening. An increased desire to get out into nature. And whether we realise it’s a pull to find our way back to what it is we have lost, or not, doesn’t matter. Most important is the shift.
This one-hour talk will take you through the ancient wisdom and modern science of Shinrin-yoku to reveal the amazing healing and wellbeing benefits of trees, as well as exercises for you to take and try for yourself either in the city or in the countryside. There will also be a short Q&A session to give you the opportunity to get answers to questions which will help you find your way back to an easier way of living – one where you intrinsically know and understand your place in the world and how our connection with nature will bring you back to wholeness, happiness and a thriving, well-balanced life.
Your two speakers for this enlightening talk on Shinrin-yoku are Stefan Batorijs and Justine Clement. Stefan is trained as a psychotherapist and Outdoor Activity Leader. He’s also an Associate Lecturer at Plymouth University on the D.Clin. Psych training for 20 years teaching the benefits of Nature to assist mental health recovery. He set up the Ecotherapy Project with Plymouth NHS, and since 2017 have been offering training courses in Shinrin Yoku based in South Devon.
I just wanted to say how much I loved your talk last evening, Justine. I’ve thought of nothing else since! I am part way through watching the Earthing movie and have scoped out some local places for my first bathe. Oh and I’ve walked barefoot in the grass this morning! Thank you for inspiring me!
In this 60-minute webinar will explore:
• A short history of Shinrin-yoku in Japan
• The science behind Shinrin-yoku
• How trees impact our physiology and psychology
• The importance of grounding in everyday life and how this will benefit your health
• Redefining intelligence for a new world
• The importance of awe and wonder
• How Shinrin-yoku can have a positive effect on depression, anxiety and sleep issues
• Lessons from nature
• How Shinrin-yoku can help to improve your mental clarity
• The top 6 benefits of Shinrin-yoku
• Practical exercises to connect with trees and nature
• Q&A
Stress is normal. Our bodies need cortisol (the stress response) to function on a daily basis. The problem is that stress is now chronic and we are unable to regulate it. Understanding the physiology of stress is the basis for better regulation.

With the demands that we have on our time and attention, it is no wonder that we find it tough to always be who we truly are. Just to survive, we have to socialise to the norms and make constant compromises just to ‘fit in’. Our habit loops take over. Before long, we have lost touch with what makes us special and unique.
Wake Up! is an app, a book and, in this case, a 2 night/2.5 day program that helps you step back from all the busyness and reconnect with who you are, what’s important to you and how you spend your time.
Working with dynamic learning and development consultancy Upping Your Elvis’ unique creative approaches, we help you become more conscious and aware, giving you the skills and confidence to stay on track and not let the world shape your daily experience for you. The Wake Up! Experience goes deeper than Wake Up! the book or app can ever go but is based on the same principles of escaping autopilot so we can all lead a more technicolor and extraordinary life.
It is held in idyllic surroundings in Lyme Regis, Dorset, and involves a full submersion into beautiful countryside, nutritious local food and the collaboration of like minded folk.
Brilliant for teams and individuals alike and ideal for anybody looking for a personal boost. Also, undoubtedly good for anyone wishing to become a more accomplished and creative leader.
Anyone who feels like they need time to have some fun, get their energy right and give attention very selfishly on themselves. It’s particularly suited to those who love creativity and surrounding themselves with beautiful nature.
At Rhode Hill House, Lyme Regis, Dorset, the home of the Baréz-Brown family
This will be a creative immersion into your life. You will get a chance to play with your perspectives to help you connect with your passions and your unique talents, making sure that they show up every day.
You will also learn some pretty cool ways to ensure that every day counts, your energy is working well for you and that when you feel stuck, you have ways to get moving again.
Creative approaches are at the heart of this workshop so be prepared to throw yourself in. We won’t spend much time with clever models and learning frameworks; in fact none at all. The workshop is deeply experiential where you will go on a journey with like-minded folk and expand your understanding of what’s really possible. And whilst we do it, we’ll have a stomp along the sea, be fed the most nutritious food from the best chefs in Dorset (aka the River Café crew) and reconnect with what loving life is all about.
Wake Up! The Experience is available as a bespoke group event. Please contact us to discuss your requirements in detail.
