Prabhat Kumar Poddar

Prabhat is the world’s leading authority on Vaastu Shastra, an ancient science of architecture and construction. Despite being born into one of India’s leading business families, his parents always had a deep spiritual quest. So much so, that when he was 4 years old, they sold off everything they owned and offered it up to an Ashram in Pondicherry, moving to live permanently. This was where Prabhat grew up, and where his love of architecture and the importance of building homes as places of integral wellbeing, began.

He studied civil engineering, architecture and town planning; a career that enabled him to travel extensively all over the world, participating in international conferences held by UNESCO, UNEP, and the United Nations Conferences on Habitat. He also became heavily involved in research on alternative technologies and in 1990, the New York Academy of Sciences acknowledged Prabhat’s research by inviting him to become a member

Prabhat’s objective and mission in life is to help establish research into ancient knowledge building and architecture systems that are being lost and to share his knowledge with the world. His personal research has been hugely inspired by the ancient architectural knowledge system of Vaastu Shastra and in order to help share this research and knowledge, he founded the Akash Foundation & Research Trust.

Realising the enormous benefits that correct architectural design can have on health, wealth and relationships, Prabhat is constantly approached to give help and guidance on projects around the world and is a consultant to various organisations around the world, including the research team at Trento University in Northern Italy.
