Here’s a 5-10 minute Active Dreaming exercise which will really help you turn your dreams into reality. Here goes:
Get comfortable. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths.
Repeat the phrase “release” aloud several times until you feel very relaxed in your body, gently letting go of all the stress, worries and rush.
Now, think of that a dream that you are or would like to work towards. It can be as big or small as you’d like, so long as it’s dear to your heart.
Once you have it in mind, spend 5-10 minutes visualising it coming true in as much detail as possible. Try not to worry about how it’s going to come true and just focus on going deep with your visualistion – really get into it.
You do this by tasting it, feeling, and imagining what it’s like to have reached your dream or goal. Where are you? What are wearing? Who is with you? What’s happening? Imagine, in as much vivid, joyful and glorious way, what it’s going to look like.
Once you’ve really mastered that, return the present moment and hold the end-outcome lightly in mind as you go about your tasks and activities.
If you can, try this every morning, for just 5-10 minutes. Each day, see if you can add a step, a detail, some action that you took to bring it forth. Believe it is real – this is hugely powerful.
Study after study has now proven that visualisation actively trains the brain for performance. What the mind sees, the mind does and brings about. The greatest leaders in the world spend time every day visualising their dreams come true.
