We’ve spent much time discussing this at Learn Shed and find it a truly fascinating subject. When you read the list of traits (more so in the inauthentic), most of you will no doubt recognise how we sit too often within the inauthentic rather than the authentic. We may also recall those that truly sit within their authentic self, how good those people make us feel and how much we admire them.
What you’re likely to feel is instantly energised/uplifted when you read the authentic and will most likely feel deflated when you read the opposite. Is that the case?
There is much talk lately of gender-neutral and of course we recognise that not all these traits lie within one sex or the other. Not much, however, is spoken about in terms of this idea of inauthentic masculine and feminine. All these descriptions came out of a recent session we attended on the subject, so these are purely our thoughts and by no mean comprehensive.
You could try it too. Run over these words and see what comes up for you. You just need to imagine the negative traits which sometimes in you which are akin to the masculine or the feminine. It’s unlikely for example, that a women feels noble, but don’t rule anything out, just play with the idea of these and see how they make you feel. So it’s not to say that these are, by any means, gender-specific, but they are akin to a more masculine vs a more feminine bias. We’re pleased to bring this subject up and we hope it serves to shine a light on some of our behaviour, recognising it and working towards sitting more in our authentic selves.
