Intimacy is derived from the Latin word ‘intimus’, which means inmost. Our innermost longing is to rediscover our inherent union with someone we can love and to know that we were never alone. That longing is often suppressed and substituted by a raft of ‘addictions’ that leave behind a deep sense of incompletion with the experience of life.
The crux of this ‘incompletion’ is that man has forgotten how to love the woman. The one certain and natural space where the two polarities meet and melt into unity consciousness, is missed. Most spiritual paths are ‘masculine’ in their expression and side-step the issue of intimacy. Instead they focus on the transcendence of desire and a witnessing of the mechanics of the mind for a taste of the eternal.
Romantic notions of what ‘love’ is supposed to mean and a ‘porn-oriented’ or almost sterile education about sex have kept men and women far away from their most natural doorway to deep union. Conscious intimacy opens that doorway to realising our true nature.
We run several types of offline workshops on intimacy, from retreats in Greece and India, to private sessions and group sessions in the UK. Drop us your details here and we’ll get right back in touch at a time to suit you.
